Garden Rake

A garden rake is a versatile gardening tool used for a variety of tasks related to soil preparation, cleaning, and leveling. It typically has a long handle with a set of spaced metal or plastic tines at the end. Here are the primary uses of a garden rake:

  1. Raking leaves: One of the most common uses is to gather fallen leaves from lawns, gardens, or pathways, making it easier to collect or compost them.
  2. Leveling soil: After digging, tilling, or planting, a garden rake is used to smooth and level the soil, creating an even surface for sowing seeds or planting.
  3. Breaking up clumps: It helps break up clods of soil after digging or tilling, making the soil finer and more workable.
  4. Spreading mulch or compost: Garden rakes are used to evenly distribute mulch, compost, or fertilizers over garden beds.
  5. Aerating soil: The rake can be used to lightly scratch the surface of the soil, improving aeration and allowing water, nutrients, and air to reach plant roots more effectively.
  6. Collecting debris: Besides leaves, a rake can be used to gather other debris like small twigs, grass clippings, or rocks from the garden.

Garden rakes come in different designs, such as flat rakes for leaves and garden rakes with curved tines for heavier tasks like soil work, making them an essential tool for both gardeners and landscapers.
